History
April 2006
My first ever website was on the infamous site builder Piczo, and it failed, a lot.
July 2006
After a few months I realized the only visitors I was getting were my offline friends, as nobody was interested in crappy personal sites. I made a few more sites after that, using more HTML and shit.
February 2007
I realized visitor content sites got a lot more hits than others, so I made my first content site. I started making my own eyesore graphics, which I thought were the SHIZ. I used a lot more HTML codes and other designs.
January 2008
After nearly a year Iman, who had been my online friend, closed her own website and decided to co-own. I offered for her to co-own but instead we made a new site, which was pretty popular for a Piczo.
March 2008
We had been getting a lot of subdomain hosting offers, and we eventually decided to ditch the Piczo crowd. I got hosted by Zach at watchimfly.info. I learned CSS and more advanced graphics, plus loads more thanks to him.
June 2008
My site was going well, but I wanted power, a bit like Voldemort. So I went to buy a domain. I didn't want to pay much for one, and eventually I found ohlovely.info, owned by Lisa, and I decided to buy one - rogued.info.
March 2009
Lisa put a message on her site saying she was going to let her domains expire, so after thinking "aw, crap" I wanted to find a new host to avoid any downtime as I wasn't sure when exactly I bought the domain, because I'm just that stupid. After looking through some hosting sites I decided on RigRag.com - their plans were cheap (yessss) and they had a good reputation.
Site Name
It took me a while to decide on a site name. I wanted to use some lyrics, but out of the blue I was reading a book and the word "facade" was used, which made up my mind. I thought about other names like herfacade or hisfacade, but then thought myfacade suited better.
Definition:
facade (noun)
1. visible surface: the face of a building, especially the principle or front face showing its most prominent architectural features
2. deceptive appearance: the way something or somebody appears on the surface, especially when that appearance is false or meant to deceive.
